How We Can Build a Better Future!

Dear Members,

As I began my adult life, I distinctly recall wanting to achieve success in my personal and professional life while having a positive impact on those around me. Early on, I didn't know how to accomplish these goals but kept my eyes open for opportunities.

In 1983, I discovered the credit union movement, which is focused on providing service and support to others. The philosophy of credit unions is based on two core values - "people helping people" and the idea that credit unions are "not for profit, not for charity, but for service." That year, I began my career in the credit union movement and joined WV Central as a member. That decision changed my life for the better. Being a member of WV Central has allowed me to learn financial techniques and gain access to tools to improve my financial position. It has also helped me to develop a servant mentality by thinking of the greater good of society.

Over the years, I have had the great privilege of working with many others who have embraced the servant mentality and given back to those around them.

For WV Central and our communities to thrive, we must work together cooperatively. We have made progress over the years, but it is now time to take steps to prepare for the future. This will require continued involvement from all of us, as well as the younger generation stepping up to take on important roles and support our efforts to build a better future.

WV Central is launching Our Next Gen program to attract younger members who can help the credit union grow and contribute to the success of our community and its residents. We aim to increase the number of members who can work for the credit union and support its overall success. In the coming weeks, we will be sharing more information about Our Next Gen program.

It is crucial to have members of all ages, especially younger ones, to enhance the financial well-being of everyone. This is an ongoing process that requires our continuous attention. As Henry Ford once said, "Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success."

There is much to be done. Our work is lighter if many come together and share the load!
