Community Partners: Requests for Donations
Your Credit Union supports your community in many ways. Community Partnerships include our Partner in Education, Edison Middle School, as well as Old Man Rivers, the community food bank which offers assistance to Parkersburg residents in need.
Each year we provide supplies and programs at Edison. We assist Old Man Rivers with donations and collections of school supplies, coats, backpacks and more for their programs. We are pleased to be part of these important efforts.
Charitable Giving
At West Virginia Central Credit Union, members come first. We recognize the importance of supporting community and school events, and we have set guidelines for making contributions to those causes. Please refer to the appropriate area for your request, and follow those guidelines.
Giving Priorities
WVCCU accepts requests from members and staff for those organizations they personally support. We will also accept requests for school projects from the general public. Our priorities, in order of importance, are:
- School/Sports Activities
- Civic/Health & Human Services
- Arts & Culture
Publication Ads for Schools, Charity Events: A budget amount is set aside specifically for ads and sponsorships in school and charity publications. Up to $100 per request will be fulfilled until that budget amount is used. Please submit the attached form, with ALL FIELDS COMPLETED, to Lisa Collins, 1306 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg, WV 26101, or e-mail to lisa.collins@wvccu.org.
Grant requests from members and staff may be submitted for non-profit, 501(c) (3) organizations and schools. Grants of $50 up to $500 will be made to organizations in the abovementioned categories of priority. Once grant money is used, no more requests will be fulfilled for the year. Larger grants may be made at the discretion of the President and Board of Directors, when special needs arise. (In 2005, for example, special grants were made to the American Red Cross Building Fund and for Katrina victims.)
Please e-mail lisa.collins@wvccu.org to apply. If you are funded, WVCCU appreciates pictures, news clippings, and other documentation of how the funds are used.
